2016 Latin American & Caribbean ESP Conference – Healthy Ecosystems for Resilient Societies

Our Presence

The work of Wolfs Company was presented during the first Latin American & Caribbean Ecosystem Services Partnership (ESP) conference, which took place in Cali, Colombia, from 18-21 October 2016. Over 200 researchers, policy makers and practitioners from more than 20 different countries participated in the conference around the topic ‘healthy ecosystems for resilient societies’.

During the session on Coastal Marine Ecosystem Services in Latin America organized by the Peruvian Institute of the Sea (IMARPE), Amílcar Guzmán discussed how the results of the TEEB study and the green economic model developed by Wolfs Company in Bonaire have helped to improve local well-being. In the session on Mapping Ecosystem Services, Boris van Zanten presented a comparison of methods for mapping cultural ecosystem services that have been used by Wolfs Company, including innovative social media based approaches and participatory mapping. The presentations during the ESP Conference were supported by COSME.
